If it's not one thing....

“Joe go call the police.” Paul told his son.

“But Dad?” Joe said not wanting to leave his father.

“I said go call the police I have this.” he said again as Joe went in to call.

“Ok jackass give me your hand before you wreck my cover.” He told the intruder as he pulled him out and had him lie face down with his hands over his head until the police arrived.

When they got there they read him his rights and put him in the squad car. They told Paul that they would let them know what they find out. Inside Cecelia was all upset as Beth was trying to calm her down. Paul told them all not to let on to Ellie on what happen yet only because they didn’t know what this was all about and when they did he would explain to them.

It was the next day and Jon had gotten up early only because Jimmy had climbed in bed with them sometime during the night. Luckily he had fallen asleep just as fast when his head hit the pillow and Ellie got out and threw on a night gown she had brought with her just in case something like this happened and Jon then rolled him to her and put on some sweats. I guest he was going to have to get use to this and boy was he ever happy too. When morning came and Jimmy’s foot was sticking in his rib he let out a little laugh so he got up anyway. He was just making his coffee when the phone rang so he quickly went to answer it so it wouldn’t wake anyone. It was Tom and he didn’t have good news for them. He told Jon that Michael had gotten out due to this program for good prisoners and was released on an early parole system. They were supposed to inform her that he was being released and should have gotten the official letter that was sent. Jon told him he wanted a copy of that letter immediately so Tom said he would get on that. He also told Jon that he was sending over a security team for him to sign off on and the lead man Oscar Paulson would be handling it. They would be over about eleven a.m. Jon thanked him for everything he did and to stay close in case he needed him. Tom told him not to worry he’ll be here and good luck. Jon paced the kitchen wondering how he was going to tell the woman he loved that the maniac that nearly killed her was loose.

A few hours now went by when a little head peaked over the hallway door as Jon was drinking his umpteenth cup of coffee while watching the news. “Well hello there little man you want to come and sit with me?” Jon asked his son. Jimmy shooked his head and ran to his Dad.

Jumping up on the couch and sitting as close as he could he looked up at him with those big blue eyes of his and said, “Daddy?”

Well Jon’s heart nearly jumped out of his chest with pride. He didn’t know that the word Daddy would hit him like this. Choking up a bit he answered back, “Ya Jimmy?”

“Could we watch cartoons please?” he asked his Dad as Jon thought he was looking into a mirror.

“Ya sure let me see what’s on ok?” he said as Jon was channel surfing. Before he knew he found Bugs Bunny and asked him if this was ok and Jimmy told him that it was. So the two of them were watching it as Ellie finally got up and saw the two of them watching cuddling on the couch. She nearly died when she saw her two men sitting there before Jon caught her watching them. “Hey what are you looking at beautiful?” he asked her smiling from ear to ear.

“The most beautiful site ever.” She told him smiling back with tears in her eyes.

“Mommy, Daddy and me are watching cartoons. It’s Bugs Bunny.” Jimmy told her pointing to the t.v.

“I see that, have you eaten?” she asked them.

“Oh Babe I forgot to feed him. I got so caught up with sitting here and well I…” Jon stumbled.

“It’s ok really I’ll get him something. Do you want anything?” she asked him.

“No I’m fine really.” He told her as he showed her his coffee cup.

“Yeah? How many of those had you have?” she asked him giving him the eye.

“I’m not the kid ok? Just take care of Jimmy and yourself please.” He said giving her the eye.

“Don't do that to me.” She told him with her arms crossed.

“What? What did I do?” he asked her not knowing.

“You gave me your stink eye. You think I don’t know that by now. You’ve been doing it since you’ve been sixteen years old. You know you haven’t changed that much Jon. I’ll see what you have and you’ll eat too. Oh Men!” she said and walked into the kitchen.

Jon just looked at her with his mouth open. Then looked down at his son. “Is she always like this?” he asked him.

“Yep she’s a pain but you gotta love her.” He said with a straight face as he continued to watch t.v.

Jon’s eyes went wide when he heard his son’s comment. Where the HELL did he hear that! He was shocked to say the least. Again his mouth went wide as he sat there. He thought to himself that this would be fun even thou they had all these problems that were in the mix. He watched Ellie at the counter getting breakfast ready. He would talk to her after they ate.

After the breakfast dishes were taken care of and Jimmy was watching his shows Jon knew this was the perfect time to talk to her before his security team got there. He told Jimmy that they were going to go into the bedroom to talk and if he needed anything or heard anything to come and get them. Ellie wanted to know what this was all about. She could see that there was something wrong and she was a little scared because she had a feeling she knew what this was about.

“Ellie I got a call from Tom this morning and it wasn’t good. He found out that Michael got an early release from something called the Good Prisoners Release Program so he’s been out now for a week. Tom is going to get a copy of the letter that was supposed to be sent to you and when it was sent to you. He’s also sending out my security team out here around eleven a.m. so we need to tell them everything there is about him. Ellie are you listening to me?” he asked her as he notice she was looking off into the distance. “Baby look at me please are you ok?” he asked her again.

Shaking her gently she finally looked at him, “Jon oh yeah I’m really fine and I’ll tell them what I can.” She told him still looking like she had seen a ghost. Then she told him, “Jon then it was him on the phone wasn’t it? It was him on the phone. That Son-of-a-Bitch! He called here.” She was getting all upset now.

“I know Baby that’s why we’re getting the security so he can’t get to you. I’ll talk to this Oscar Paulson and we’ll do what he suggests and hopefully Michael will screw up enough that we can throw him back into jail.  That’s if I don’t kill him first. Ok now why don’t we get dressed and then we’ll get Jimmy dressed. Maybe after everything we can do something as a family how’s that?” he told her trying to get her to smile.

Eleven O’clock came and Oscar Paulson and his men came to the apartment and Ellie put Jimmy in his room with some of the toys Jon had bought for him and told him the grownups had to talk but they would go out for a surprise later.  Oscar brought four of his best men and Jon also knew them as he had worked with them on the tour. Jon asked Oscar that he would need these guys to stay on Ellie and his son when they go back on tour and Oscar actually suggested that it might even be a good idea for them to go with him only because it would be harder for Michael to follow them with all the Bon Jovi security around. Ellie wasn’t sure and she was concerned for her family. Oscar had some news for her on that front and didn’t want her to get upset and Jon could tell something was up but told Oscar that it was ok to tell them. Oscar had just gotten the police report on what had happen at her parents’ house and how this man was scouting out for Michael everything that Ellie was doing. He was supposed to break in and see if he could find Jon’s schedule so he knew where Ellie would be when they went back on tour. But luckily your father and brother were able to stop him before he broke into the house.

Ellie was beside herself only because it was touching her family now. This sick psycho was wrecking her life and he was loving it. But if he touched Jimmy then he was in for a world of hurt.
“Baby this isn’t your fault and you can’t blame yourself so stop it.” Jon told her.

“That’s right Ms. Anderson if you keep blaming yourself you’re feeding into his fantasy. You have to show him that you’re a strong, independent woman and that you’re in a committed relationship. That you’re over him and that you have no hard feelings for him and I know that’s going to be that hardest thing but we need to show him that you show him no bad ill will. That way he might not want to hurt Jon and even you so we can grab him. Now the worst case scenario and he’s too far gone. You’ll have to pretend that you still love him so he won’t hurt you and well you get it. Do you think that you can do that?” Oscar asked her.

Looking at the men then to the love of her life she told them yes. Jon and Oscar then went over security procedures and how two men will stay with them at all times. Ben Harris and Jared Contex will be the first shift as Davis Powers and Leo Mathers will be the second shift. Ellie didn’t want to live like this and she certainly didn’t want her son too. But she sure as hell didn’t want Michael to grab Jimmy. She also thought how was she going to explain all this to Jimmy because he wasn’t a stupid child. He noticed everything and she knew he was going to notice two extra men hanging around. Oscar also explained to them that they would also take care of them on tour. If it was ok with Jon he would get four other men to replace these guys for the tour only because he trusted them to keep an eye on them as opposed to just working on the tour. Jon had no problem with it his family came first. Once the initial meeting was over Oscar took his men and went over the apartment and went over the nooks and crannies then went outside and did the same. They wanted to know every place where someone could hide and get access into the apartment without being seen. They would also talk to Jon’s landlord and make sure he knew what was going on so he wouldn’t let anyone into the place at all. Oscar didn’t want anyone without Jon’s personal ok; it had to come from him. Finally Jon thanked Oscar for everything and Ben and Jared took up their positions. 

Jimmy was told that Ben and Jared were friends of Daddy’s and they were here to watch over them because entertainers sometimes had bodyguards. Jimmy looked at Jon and seemed confused so Ellie knew how to put it to him the only way she knew. She explained to him it was like Elvis and the Memphis Mafia as they were his body guards because he was The King of Rock and Roll and sometimes people like to grab Elvis because they loved him so much. Well Daddy does the same thing he sings and is in a band and the girls and his fans go crazy for him and like to grab him so they can touch him. So Daddy needed to have bodyguards like some of the rock stars do. Jimmy looked at the two of them and just said, “Oh ok.” And then wanted to go for his surprise. Well they looked at each other and smiled holding in their laughter. Jon then took Ellie by her arm and told Jimmy that they would be right back.

Standing just outside his door, “Babe can I ask what was with the Memphis Mafia?” he asked her looking a little shocked.

“What? You were trying to explain why we have the men in our home and that they’re bodyguards so I just thought I’d make it a little simpler for him that’s all.” Ellie explained to him smiling.

“So you used Elvis and the Memphis Mafia analogy to a five year old? But what kills me is he got it. He fucking got it.” Jon said still shocked.

“JON! Would you please watch your language you know we have a five year old around remember? I know it’s hard Babe believe me but no swearing. In fact you’re going to have to tell those guys of yours the same thing when were around them.” She scolded him.

“Oh Babe I’m sorry. I totally forgot and I will tell the guys to watch it I promise. Forgive me?” he asked her giving her that special look that he gives when he wants something.

“You know I do and stop that he’s right in there and awake! Plus we have two others walking around only God knows where.” She told him giggling.

“Oh crap this is going to kill me not being able to just take you when I want to and throw you in my bed.” He told her as he kissed her passionately.  Jimmy came out to see where they were when they heard ICK! They both looked down when they saw him with a sour puss on his face and walked backed into his room.

“Damn ok well I guess I should go explain to him that it’s ok to kiss you like that and not just well you know a peck on the lips or cheek.” Ellie said as she started to go in.

“No I’ll go talk to him you know guy to guy. You need to call your folks and tell them that you two are ok and tell them what I set in plan so you’ll be safe and not to worry.” Jon told her as he turned her around, smacked her ass and sent her off. She looked back and gave him a dirty look and then giggled.

Jon talked to Jimmy and he was fine with him kissing his Mommy because as he told Jon that’s what Mommies and Daddy’s do. Meanwhile Ellie told her Mom what was going on here and what Jon did and that she now has bodyguards. Her Mom was relieved that Jon took the lead and was taking care of her kids. Ellie also explained to her that they were coming home with them also until she packed a few things and they were going on tour with Jon for a while per consult with his head of security. But she told her that she would go over it more when she sees them.

An hour later Jon and Ellie set out for a Mario’s Pizza. It still stood in the same place and Mario still owned it. He had cut his hours down has his kids now ran the business but he still showed up several days a week. Luckily today was one of them as they walked in and got a table in the back. The waitress’ were fighting over who got to wait on Jon and Gino, one of Mario’s sons put his foot down and told Missy to just go over there and treat them just like any other customer. She told him no problem and went over there and took their order. They were enjoying eating their dinner as Jared and Ben were in another booth having theirs’s as they never stopped watching them or strategizing . They had finish they’re dinner and had ordered dessert and while Jimmy was eating his ice cream someone had walked into the restaurant and saw the family eating. She was there with her sister and couldn’t resist going over there and saying Hi.

Ellie and Jon were sharing a strawberry cheesecake and she almost lost hers when she saw who was making her way to their table. She kicked Jon under the table. “Hey! What the hell Ellie…” Jon asked when he heard her say.

“Well what a cute little family. I heard that you had a child.” Dorothea said standing there with her arms crossed.

“Dot I’m going to grab us a table ok? Nice to see you again Jon.” Colleen said as she left.

“What do you want Dot can’t you see we want to be left alone when it comes to you.” Jon told her unapologetic.

“Now Jon how am I supposed to know that? You guys look like any other normal family to me. Besides it would be rude of me not to come over and say Hello wouldn’t it?” Dot informed them.

Ellie was stilling tapping Jon under the table. She did not want her near Jimmy or Jon for that matter. Plus she was trying to hold her tongue in front of Jimmy that’s all she needed was Jimmy to think that it was ok to talk to people the way she wanted to tell off Dorothea.

“Dot I’m going to give you ten seconds to go join your sister or I’m going to take you personally got that?” Jon told her pissed off that she intruded on their family time.

“Oh really Jon you don’t have the balls to make a scene in public. But maybe if you say pretty please.” Dorothea laughed.

“Look you Bit…jerk if you don’t leave I do have them so you turn right around now or I’ll do it do you understand me.” She said firmly. 

Dorothea looked at both of them and said, “Fine but Jon you really did get yourself into a mess didn’t you? I told you she would be trouble back then and she came back to bite you in the ass. They will drag you down…” she was telling him when he shouted back.

“DOT! Stop this now! Just go and I’m really sorry that you can’t stand that I’m happy.” Jon told her as he raised his hand.

Ben saw this and told Jared that he was up. Jared walked over to the table. “Jon what can I do?”

“Please take my ex over to her table because she needs to leave.” Jon told him. Jared did what he was told as Dorothea couldn’t believe that they had a body guard. She did what Jared told her and when she asked Jared questions Jared told her that he doesn’t answer to her and went back to his table. Needless to say they didn’t stay much longer. When Jimmy finished up his ice cream Jon went to pay the checks and then they left for the apartment.

It didn’t take long for them to get home but before they could go in Jared went in first to look around and when the coast was clear Ben escorted them in. Ellie just looked at Jon as they went in and he knew they were in for a very long discussion later. To keep her mind off of things Ellie took Jimmy in the bathroom to give him his bath it had been a long day and he had ice cream all over him. Jon was sitting on the couch with his guitar as he heard the water running. He was smiling as he was just playing anything that came into his head when all of a sudden this little streaker came running out as his mother came chasing after him. “Jon grab him!” she yelled.

Jon started laughing and put his guitar down on the couch and was able to scoop the little streaker up. “NO! no bath!” Jimmy yelled.

“Ok so why doesn’t he want his bath?” Jon asked Ellie who was all wet.

“I forgot his bath toys. So he doesn’t want to take his bath without them. Can you just put him in the tub for me please?” Ellie asked Jon since he had a good hold on him.

Smiling Jon had an idea. “Why don’t you let me give him his bath.” He asked her.

“You want to give him his bath?” she asked him surprised.

“Sure why not? Hey I have to start getting use to do these things right so let me do this while you change into something a little drier how’s that?” he asked her hoping that she would let him.

“You sure?” she asked him again.

“Yeah I am.” He told her again with confidence.  

“Ok then I’ll get changed and you can get all wet. Jimmy give me kisses.” She asked him as he gave his Mommy a big smooch and not to be out done so did Jon.

Jon brought Jimmy into the bathroom and put him into the tub. At first he wasn’t too keen to going in there but Jon told him all the big boys take baths to get clean. He told him that he takes his almost every day because he jumps around on stage to sing like Elvis does and gets all sweaty so he needs to take one because Mommy doesn’t like the smell. Jimmy listen to him and asked his Dad if he smelled and Jon told him no but when he gets all dirty and sticky Mommy doesn’t like that so he needs to take his bath just like Daddy does. So in a way he’s like Daddy and needs to get clean for Mommy. Well Jimmy liked that so he asked his Daddy to help him. When they were finished Jon helped him put on his P.J.’s and he ran out to show his Mommy.

“Mommy wook I’m all clean like Daddy is. You happy now?” He asked her as she looked at the two of them.

“Um yes I’m very happy now Honey. And you want to know something else?” she asked her son. Jimmy shooked his head yes. “You look like your Daddy when he was your age too. And your freckle look (and she had Jon bend down) see Daddy has the same one too.” As she pointed to it on Jon.

“Wow look Mommy Daddy does have it too.” Jimmy said as he touched Jon’s as Jon was smiling and looking at Ellie.

“Ok time for bed Sweetie.” Ellie said as they both brought him in and put him to bed.
